Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in corporate information technology, specializing in Linux operating systems.
  • Experience in scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Perl for automation of system tasks and integration of systems.
  • Extensive experience with administration of both Windows and Linux systems.
  • Experience with IT for software engineering organizations.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, RHEL), VMware ESXi, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, WSL, SQL Server, and Active Directory.
  • Experience with automated management tools.
  • Experience supporting engineering software, hardware, and licensing servers.

Responsibilities

  • Build, deploy, and administer Linux servers, workstations, and lab systems, including virtual machines.
  • Manage network configurations.
  • Manage Cesium Gitlab repositories.
  • Manage Jira and Confluence.
  • Manage Docker desktop, swarm, and Kubernetes.
  • Support Windows and Linux machines in an Active Directory environment.
  • Provide input on and implement security requirements for NIST and CMMC compliance.
  • Respond to issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain hardware, software, and licensing inventory and baselines.
  • Develop processes and procedures and create documentation.
  • Identify software and infrastructure needs and suggest solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of sysadmin experience, specializing in Linux operating systems.
  • Computing resources for high-performance engineering workstations.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools, which can be useful in implementing IT processes and procedures.
  • Proficiency in advanced networking concepts, including VLANs, NAT, network protocols (such as TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, SNMP), VPN configuration, and troubleshooting network issues.
  • Implementing information security frameworks such as NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC.
  • IT-related certifications.
