Licensed Clinical Social Worker – Healthy Steps Specialist

Requirements

• Professional Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker by the California Behavioral Science Board.
• Master’s degree required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children, and a minimum of one year of clinical experience.
• A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Providing interventions, referrals, and follow-up for families with patients ages 0-3.
• Building strong relationships with families and providers to increase the efficiency of the medical system.
• Applying psychological/counseling principles in assessment, clinical interventions, case management, consultation, and program development.
• Integrating behavioral health services into a primary care setting.
• Conducting diagnosis, evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning.
• Providing individual, group, child, and family behavioral health services with a focus on short-term problem-solving therapy, short-term cognitive behavioral therapy, brief psychodynamic therapy, crisis intervention, coping skills, behavior modification, case consultations, and other evidence-based practice techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with children 0-3 years old and their families is preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish or English and other predominant language of the population served preferred.
