Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in library science, business administration, operations management, or related degree; and three (3) years of public library management experience; or
- Master’s degree; and two (2) years of public library management experience
Responsibilities
- Plans, organizes, and consults with local administrators in support of library service across the state.
- Collaborates with city leaders and library staff to ensure implementation and support of library projects and programs.
- Researches and responds to library operations and services inquiries.
- Collaborates with inter-agency departments in planning, promoting, and implementing programs in accordance with agency policies and goals.
- Researches and analyzes data to produce informative reports and maintain accurate records.
- Plans, develops, and conducts training, seminars, meetings or clinics as required.
- Develops and makes presentations to professional organizations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Five years of management experience in a public library setting including: operations, collection development, and facilities management; managing complex projects, partnerships, and grants; experience establishing and maintaining partnerships throughout the community; experience in strategic, data-driven decision making; experience in reporting progress to multiple stakeholders; experience collaborating internally with multiple departments.
