Requirements

  • Graduation from a New York State or regionally accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Ability to use and create spreadsheets
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to interpret and explain data

Responsibilities

  • Assists in analyzing the fiscal and programmatic effects of the Suffolk County Executive’s proposed operating and capital budgets
  • Participates in a team effort by assisting with research and analysis for special projects
  • Collects data, and assists with analyzing the data and preparing a written report of findings and recommendations
  • Assists in researching a variety of issues of importance to the Legislature: such as organizational structures, program costs and benefits, impacts of budgetary changes and the status of federal and state legislation or funding
  • Prepares fiscal impact statements and attends Legislative committee meetings.
