Requirements
- Graduation from a New York State or regionally accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree
- Ability to use and create spreadsheets
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Critical thinking skills
- Ability to interpret and explain data
Responsibilities
- Assists in analyzing the fiscal and programmatic effects of the Suffolk County Executive’s proposed operating and capital budgets
- Participates in a team effort by assisting with research and analysis for special projects
- Collects data, and assists with analyzing the data and preparing a written report of findings and recommendations
- Assists in researching a variety of issues of importance to the Legislature: such as organizational structures, program costs and benefits, impacts of budgetary changes and the status of federal and state legislation or funding
- Prepares fiscal impact statements and attends Legislative committee meetings.
