Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Active bar admission in any state
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in construction law transactions, with specific experience in AIA document negotiations
- Deep understanding of construction contract law
- Knowledge of construction financing and loan due diligence processes
- Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Self-starter who thrives in a dynamic and high-stakes business environment
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, redline, and negotiate a wide range of construction-related agreements, including AIA contracts, EPC agreements, architect and engineering services agreements, change orders, letters of authorization (LOAs), notices to proceed (NTPs), and other commercial contracts
- Provide strategic and tactical legal advice to internal clients, particularly the digital infrastructure construction team, with practical solutions to advance business goals and mitigate risk
- Support construction financing and loan closing processes, including contract due diligence, execution of key agreements, and delivering related documentation in coordination with internal stakeholders and external lenders
- Serve as the point of contact for construction contract lifecycle management, from initial request to execution and archiving
- Present complex legal concepts clearly and effectively to non-legal stakeholders both in writing and during meetings
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments including construction, finance, project development, and operations to support legal and business objectives
- Work closely with the construction leadership team to continuously improve contracting processes and best practices
- Manage outside counsel engagements, ensuring alignment with internal priorities, cost-efficiency, and timely deliverables
- Maintain organized, up-to-date records of executed construction agreements in the legal document repository
- Perform other legal duties as assigned by the General Counsel or members of the construction team
