Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in US disability/leave administration and ADA accommodation.
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience is preferred.
  • Deep understanding and application of federal and state disability and paid family leave laws (i.e., ADA, FMLA, PFWA, CFRA, HIPPA, etc.) in a multi-state environment.
  • Independent worker and must be able to regularly exercise discretion, handle conflict and be firm when required.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The ability to analyze complex questions and determine the best course of actions or recommendation.
  • Organized, detail oriented and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels
  • Ability to take initiative and make decisions under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Administers Leave of Absence Programs and policies, engaging with team members, HR partners, management and third-party administrators to ensure appropriate support and processes are followed. Researches and resolves issues accordingly.
  • Engage in the interactive process associated with ADA Accommodations and the Pregnancy Workers Fairness Act.
  • Accurately and timely process high volume of leave actions in Company payroll, timekeeping and HR systems. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of leave laws, PWFA and ADA regulations.
  • Collaborates with Workers Compensation vendor to process employee claims.
  • Collaborate with the HRIS team to ensure successful vendor interfaces are in place.
  • Develop, generate and present reports to analyze leave data and trends.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert for the leave programs in alignment and under the general direction and guidance of HR leadership and Legal.
  • Process State Disability Claims as necessary.
  • Reconciles/analyzes payroll files or resolves individual pay inquiries as related to leaves.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal leave laws, providing support and project execution when new laws develop.

  • Experience in administering a CA VDI Plan a plus
