Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to apply in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in the Learning and Development discipline; have knowledge of best practices within the field.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design, with the ability to translate these principles in a variety of learning and programs and experiences for business professional learners.
  • Proficiency in using learning management systems (LMS) and other learning technologies.
  • Excellent facilitation skills for both small and large groups in various settings (virtual, in-person, synchronous, asynchronous).
  • Strong data collection and reporting skills to measure training effectiveness.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under limited supervision.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of learning and development experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of assignments that require a full understanding of the Learning and Development discipline; often have accountability for ongoing activities and objectives.
  • Assist in and lead the development and continuous improvement of training and development programs.
  • Support the analysis and identification of skill gaps and performance improvement opportunities.
  • Create training materials, including job aids and reference materials that align with established program goals and objectives.
  • Serve as a key user of the firm’s learning management system (LMS), including adding and updating content and ensuring full utilization of system functionality.
  • Support the execution of all training programs for professional staff; deliver training as needed.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of testing and evaluation procedures to assess the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with attorneys, managers, and subject matter experts to determine and deliver training priorities.
  • Collaborate with the Manager, HR Managers, and other business leaders to identify skill gaps and related training solutions and support.
  • Work closely with the Manager for successful development and execution of all aspects of LD-related events (e.g., learning summits, group events), such as scheduling, agreements and logistics, participant registration, branding, marketing, communications, outreach efforts, and event evaluations.
  • Manages all aspects of assigned L&D programs, including program design, enrollment management, vendor management (where applicable), strategic marketing, and stakeholder management.
  • Identify and recommend new learning tools and programs that support capability development aligned with firm business needs.
  • Create and maintain a positive and professional learning environment.
  • Stay current with industry trends and maintain technical proficiency through research and education.
  • Understand how the Learning and Development area integrates with other areas across Human Resources and the firm; demonstrate awareness of external factors that may impact the discipline and the Firm’s competitors.
  • Impact a range of operational, project, or service activities within the team and related teams; may lead small projects or project steps within a broader project.
  • Support for establishing and maintaining learning paths for all levels of leaders as well as individual contributors.
  • Support the maintenance and enhancement of existing learning portals and monthly communication and content distribution via SharePoint.
  • Solve complex problems; exercise judgment based on analyzing multiple sources of information; take a new perspective on existing solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in creating leadership development programming preferred.
  • Certification to design and/or deliver team building programs and other training/professional development beneficial.
  • Experience leading small teams to successfully achieve learning and development objectives.
