Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in engineering)
Responsibilities
- Lead coated component TBC development programming and spray trials on turbine and combustion components along with the technical transfer to the GE Vernova manufacturing shops.
- Execute off-line programming creation and iterations for development trials
- Create robotic motion programs for coating applications
- Validate robotic motion programs in development labs and global manufacturing and repair centers
- Work with coating engineers to develop tooling, spray parameters, and new thermal spray equipment designs
- Perform bluelight and eddy current NDT inspections for coating thickness
- Document development results and process details in technical transfer package
- Perform upkeep and standard preventive maintenance of thermal spray cell
- Communicate project updates and final report outs to GE internal teams
- Interface and communicate with Design and Manufacturing teams process details and outcomes necessary to ensure all parties are aware of key learnings and issues.
- Conceptual, or theoretical activities relating to the development, improvement, and usage of materials, coatings, and processes undertaken to build, apply, or shape the materials.
- Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
- In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience in coating deposition processes and application equipment such as air plasma spray (APS), high velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF), and arc wire spray.
- Knowledge and experience in different coated materials for specific applications such as: TBCs, thermal spray wear coatings, wear coatings, corrosion protective coatings.
- Knowledge and experience with coating preparation and removal processes such as: grit blasting, acid immersion, high pressure water-jet.
- Familiarity and past experience with operating a thermal spray spray (ie. control console, spray torches, robot, turntable, powder feeders, airjets, etc).
- Familiarity with FANUC robotic and automation systems.
- Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems, such as CAD/CAM, Robcad and Roboguide.
- Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion.
- Effective at managing multiple projects/priorities under tight deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to work effectively as part of a high performance, cross-functional team to drive impactful results.
- Experience with common Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, TEAMS, etc)
