Requirements
- Degree or equivalent and typically requires 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience, including demonstrable success in leading complex infrastructure projects (e.g., migrating a significant number of servers to a cloud environment, resulting in measurable improvements in performance or cost savings). Specific examples of quantifiable achievements are highly desirable.
- Expert-level knowledge of Windows and Azure, strong knowledge of storage and VMware architectures, and a good understanding of application architecture and deployment processes.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible is highly desirable.
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills capable of quickly adapting to new technologies.
Responsibilities
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve performance and efficiency within the Windows environment (on-premises and cloud), and champion the implementation of innovative solutions.
- Develop and optimize automation scripts and workflows to enhance operational efficiency across cloud and on-prem environments.
- Leverage Azure services to build, deploy, and manage applications and infrastructure, ensuring best practices in security and scalability.
- Create and maintain comprehensive flowcharts, process documents, and procedures that support the Windows architecture, ensuring clarity and consistency.
- Rigorously test, validate, and implement new technological solutions and modifications prior to their operational deployment, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
- Gather and analyze data to prepare insightful reports related to enterprise systems and their functions, facilitating informed decision-making.
- Assist and participate (along with other teams) in system developments, implementation projects, compliance, and maintenance on the enterprise technology infrastructure.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records pertaining to systems, including the preparation, and purging of Configuration Management Database (CMDB) records as required.
- Utilize the McKesson Change Management process to effectively implement changes within production and disaster recovery environments, ensuring minimal disruption.
- Leverage the McKesson Incident Management process and tools to address and resolve third-level incidents assigned to the team, maintaining high service levels.
- Proactively enhance personal and technical skills through various resources and channels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible is highly desirable.
