Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Must work independently with minimal supervision and have a strong attention to details.
  • Internal candidates must be in a Sanitation Associate position for at least one year to qualify for the Lead Sanitation Associate position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate on the job training related to custodial duties and maintaining sanitary conditions, technical support, and subject matter expertise to sanitation associates on proper procedures and policies on all shifts as directed by the immediate supervisor.
  • Assist sanitation associates in resolving any issues, i.e., equipment or procedures.
  • Maintain and consolidate all documentation and paperwork associated with sanitation processes, as required.
  • Communicate any safety or equipment issues or concerns immediately to supervisor.
  • Communicate any food safety issues or concerns immediately to the Food Safety Coordinator and supervisor.
  • Perform random audits/inspections for proper cleaning of equipment and surfaces, warehouse areas, offices, and all other common areas.
  • Participate and actively collaborate in scheduled and unscheduled internal/external facility audits.
  • Assist in the preparation for regulatory and customer inspections.
  • Perform all custodial duties following an established master cleaning/sanitation schedule throughout the facility office areas, warehouse, guard shack(s) and break rooms which includes proper sanitizing/disinfecting, dusting, sweeping, washing, wiping, scrubbing, shoveling, and mopping. Care of other areas may be requested. May be required to climb ladder (stepstool) to perform these duties.
  • Perform proper sanitation procedures in special situations such as floor drain cleaning, chemical spill cleanup, elevated cleaning (cleaning at heights), and clean-up of blood borne pathogens.
  • Maintain sanitary conditions in the requested areas to include collection and daily disposal of trash or debris. Clean up all spills in those areas.
  • Maintain floor coverings by sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming in assigned areas.
  • Maintain employee and guest parking areas/lot(s), main entrance and associate entrance areas and common areas on a weekly basis or as needed to maintain appearance. Remove litter/trash or other property damaging elements (i.e., nails, glass, cigarette butts).
  • Complete daily cleaning log to provide accurate documentation for planning and evaluation of sanitation activities.
  • Clean and disinfect any/all restrooms as scheduled to maintain sanitary conditions. This includes the cleaning of urinals, toilets, sinks, counters and counter tops, mirrors, sweeping and mopping of floors, and restocking paper and soap dispensers.
  • Maintain proper and safe utilization of chemicals.
  • Responsible for the neatness and cleanliness of assigned work areas.
  • Report to supervisor immediately any unfixable/unsafe issues.
  • Observe and enforce all safety rules to eliminate accidents and injuries.
  • Understand and comply with all applicable company policies (i.e., attendance, Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, Associate Handbook, etc.).
  • Comply with all applicable State/Federal laws, regulations, and policies (i.e., OSHA {Occupational Health and Safety Administration}, HACCP {Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points}, etc.).
  • Supports food safety policies, standard operating procedures, and prerequisite food safety control programs that meet legal and quality requirements and industry best practices as defined in our Food Safety Commitment documentation.
  • Accept additional responsibilities or special projects as requested. Other duties may be assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) preferred, or one year sanitation related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
