Requirements

  • 10-15 years of experience in a quality engineering or quality assurance role; the bulk of this time must have been on-site, and within manufacturing facilities
  • 5-10 years of experience leading people
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, supply chain management, or similar
  • Proficiency within the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
  • Immersion within a dynamic MRP system such as SAP, Oracle, Dynamics AX or similar
  • High skill sets and working knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading, gage set-up, mechanical inspection, or CMM programming

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, mentoring and coaching to direct reports; be a resource to all members of the team
  • Function as ‘Player-Coach” in workload ownership, task completion for quality process deliverables
  • Coordinate with the other QE’s full ownership and execution of supplier PPAP, deviation and corrective action activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and commodity to address design revisions, manufacturing changes and quality issues
  • May own or support new product launch projects within larger matrixed team
  • Drive continual improvement of product inspection and calibration processes through monitoring and measurement of tools, methods and personnel productivity and performance
  • Support safety, quality and productivity events requiring cross functional participation to drive continual improvement and deliver targeted business performance metrics
