Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in product management or a relevant domain area
  • Advanced knowledge of the product development life cycle, design, and data analytics
  • Proven ability to lead product life cycle activities including discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition, and value management
  • Strong understanding of Apache Flink, Java/Spring Boot, and Databricks, with hands-on experience in full stack development
  • Proven experience in managing complex technical projects, including planning, execution, and delivery
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and driving results
  • Experience in resource allocation and team management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, evaluate options, and implement solutions

Responsibilities

  • Develops a product strategy and product vision that delivers value to customers
  • Manages discovery efforts and market research to uncover customer solutions and integrate them into the product roadmap
  • Owns, maintains, and develops a product backlog that enables development to support the overall strategic roadmap and value proposition
  • Builds the framework and tracks the product’s key success metrics such as cost, feature and functionality, risk posture, and reliability
  • Leads and coordinates cross-functional teams to deliver complex technical projects on time and within budget
  • Ensures alignment between engineering, product, and business teams to achieve project goals
  • Provides technical guidance and support to the feature team, leveraging expertise in Apache Flink, Java/Spring Boot, and Databricks
  • Facilitates technical discussions and decision-making processes to drive innovation and efficiency
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, including senior executives, product managers, and engineering teams
  • Communicates project status, risks, and opportunities effectively to ensure transparency and alignment
  • Collaborates with product and engineering teams to define and prioritize the technical roadmap
  • Develops strategies to enhance the Payments Data Platform, focusing on scalability, performance, and security
  • Identifies potential risks and develops mitigation strategies to ensure project success
  • Proactively address challenges and roadblocks, facilitating problem-solving and decision-making processes
  • Oversees resource allocation and management for the feature team, ensuring optimal utilization of data and software engineers
  • Supports recruitment and onboarding processes to build a high-performing team
  • Fosters a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team
  • Encourages the adoption of best practices, new technologies, and methodologies to enhance the development process and deliver high-quality solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated prior experience working in a highly matrixed, complex organization
  • Possession of advanced certifications related to Apache Flink, Java/Spring Boot, Databricks, or cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) that demonstrate a deep understanding and expertise in these technologies
  • Previous experience working in the financial services industry, particularly in payments or data platforms, which provides insight into industry-specific challenges and regulatory requirements
  • Experience in leading change management initiatives, including the ability to drive organizational transformation and adoption of new technologies and processes
  • Familiarity with change management frameworks and best practices.
