Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business-related discipline, statistics, data science or engineering from an accredited university or college, or equivalent knowledge/experience
  • Basic experience in a marketing or data science/analysis function

Responsibilities

  • Provide data and analyses related to markets and competitors in support of strategic thinking, long term strategy planning, multi-generational product planning (MGPP), marketing and competitiveness strategies, as well as operational decision making.
  • Evaluate, interpret, and present quantitative data via mathematical and statistical modelling; use data science techniques to identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets. Present findings and recommendations and provide strategic advice on what to do with the results.
  • Partner with Product Marketing Leaders on marketing campaign and collateral development/maintenance. Identify opportunities and implement processes to streamline collateral management.
  • Partner with Product Marketing Leaders on Market Requirements Documents (MRDs), assisting with market analyses, market segmentation, market requirements identification, and summarizing Voice of the Customer (VOC).
  • Support customer segmentation/buyer persona development based on customer values/behaviors/needs (e.g., cluster analysis). Capture emerging trends in customer segments and develop corresponding strategies.
  • Maintain relevant competitive intelligence data sets providing key strategic insights (e.g. competitor box charts, win/loss data).
  • Understand the marketplace and customer value proposition; know competition, product strengths and weaknesses to support New Product Introduction (NPI) gate deliverables and multi-generational product planning (MGPP).
  • Work closely with the various stakeholders (e.g. Product Marketing Leaders, Pole Marketing Leaders, Competitiveness Leaders) to prioritize business and information needs. Collaborate with the Communications and Digital Communications (ODC) teams to ensure alignment.
  • Drive initiatives to streamline operations within the Marketing & Competitiveness organization.
