Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in data engineering, preferably in a regulated industry.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and modern data stack tools (e.g., dbt, Snowflake, Airflow).
  • Experience with data cataloging, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks (e.g., DCAM) and regulatory data requirements (e.g., FR Y-9C, FFIEC 031).
  • Strong understanding of data lineage, data classification, and lifecycle monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable, automated data pipelines using tools such as dbt, Snowflake, and Elevate.
  • Implement and operationalize data management capabilities including data quality, lineage, classification, and monitoring across all data domains—not just critical data elements.
  • Collaborate with IT Governance, Risk, and Compliance teams to ensure alignment with regulatory and audit requirements.
  • Embed governance controls into data products at the point of creation, enabling federated and automated governance models.
  • Support the enterprise-wide transition from manual, white-glove governance to embedded, automated data stewardship.
  • Partner with data product owners and business SMEs to ensure data solutions are discoverable, reusable, and aligned to business processes.
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of our modern data strategy by adopting reusable design patterns and scalable architecture principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience transitioning from governance-focused roles to engineering-focused delivery.
  • Knowledge of enterprise data certification processes and critical data element (CDE) management.
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies and DevOps practices in data environments.
