Requirements
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in international relations, law enforcement, justice studies, public policy or related field; preferred Master’s degree.
- Intimate knowledge of Hizballah and other Iranian-backed proxies
- Minimum ten to fifteen years’ experience in law enforcement, with preferred senior leadership rank.
- Demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with partner governments, foreign officials, and international organizations.
- Knowledge and experience working with capacity building and strategy development in the law enforcement and counter terrorism arena.
- Experience with conducting trainings and workshops with culturally diverse participants.
- Proven ability to exercise a high degree of professional judgement and diplomacy at all times.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance.
- Clearable: Position is advertised for US citizens only and requires US Government Top Secret Clearance.
Responsibilities
- Engage with partner countries, organizations, and relevant officials to assess and strengthen bilateral and regional capacity for countering malign Iranian influence and Hizballah’s activities.
- Engage with partner countries and organizations to develop a common understanding of the threat, exchange best practices, and identify gaps and further assistance needs.
- Provide guidance on the direction, strategy, and needs of the program.
- Provide technical assistance and mentorship via workshops, trainings, equipment donations etc. to bolster counterterrorism skillsets for law enforcement professionals.
- Facilitate rapid deployment of subject-matter experts to provide technical assistance in the identified partner nation.
- Contribute to the development of program activities and reporting on outcomes.
- Assess partner countries’ existing capacities for counter terrorism in law enforcement, particularly as it relates to the program’s objective.
- Drafting after action reports, as well as bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to summarize activities and track progress of the project.
- Conduct regular TDY travel to selected countries for the purpose of mentorship, evaluation, assessment, and equipment donations efforts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with foreign assistance projects and USG processes to include interagency agreements
- Experience engaging regional and international partners, including INTERPOL and the United Nations
