Requirements
- Strong language skills in at least one of the foreign languages taught at Saint Mary’s College.
Responsibilities
- Hold set hours in the Tutoring Center and be available for appointments scheduled by students.
- Communicate with foreign language students and professors to create a workable tutoring schedule.
- Assist students in Arabic/Chinese/French/Italian/Spanish classes who need additional explanation, review, or practice.
- Review grammatical rules and exercises or provide additional opportunities for speaking, listening, and/or writing practice.
- Maintain accurate records and a high degree of confidentiality.
- Assist MODL faculty with preparing assignments, answer keys, etc.
- Set up and troubleshoot lab and audio-visual equipment.
- Maintain the neatness of the lab areas.
- Provide general assistance to the Modern Language staff Assistant.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Mac computers and audio-visual equipment.
