Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or higher completed and verified prior to start
  • Two (2) years combined laboratory, manufacturing and/or pilot plant experience in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Two (2) years’ experience with Microsoft Excel

Responsibilities

  • Leading experiment set-up and running of plasma systems including:
  • Leading experimental running, data acquisition, observation, and optimization.
  • Learning new machine functions and operation: controls, sub-systems, procedures, and safety items.
  • Documenting run conditions electronically and communicating results accurately.
  • Providing key input to experiment planning alongside technical team leader.
  • Prioritizing and scheduling experiments with minimal supervision.
  • Leading clean-up of systems and equipment between experiments.
  • Precisely setting up equipment.
  • Maintaining lab environment including tools, equipment, lab organization, and safe operations.
  • Adhesive coating or curing.
  • Preventive maintenance activities.
  • Troubleshooting and basic repairs.
  • Coordinating machine work with external vendors.
  • Documenting all maintenance, equipment changes and repairs.
  • Monitoring variables during run for present values against set points and correcting as needed.
  • Maintaining spare parts and materials inventory, ordering supplies.
  • Actively participating in team meetings and leading safety reviews.
  • Completing independent projects as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates/Two Year Technical degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a testing or laboratory environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Advanced computer knowledge including process control, CAD, or data acquisition systems
  • Strong technical and/or mechanical background including equipment modification
  • Self-starter with hands-on approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work well both in multi-disciplinary teams and independently
  • Hands on experience assembling and operating laboratory, pilot, or manufacturing-scale process equipment
  • Experience in roll-to-roll web handling or tape testing processes
