Requirements

  • Perform maintenance on laboratory instrumentation, including mass spectrometers, HPLCs, and biophysical instruments.
  • Lead instrument introduction, project execution and ensure the procedures follow company, client, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Produce high-quality instrumentation documentation to provide for equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Possesses good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and a desire to take on additional responsibilities as they arise.
  • Ability to learn new processes and procedures and adjust to fluctuations in workload.
  • Ability to work with multiple teams to maintain all laboratory equipment in working order to meet client needs in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to maintain organization of space, documentation, and materials to ensure smooth workflow and inventory management.
  • Pays great attention to detail in a multitasking environment to ensure proper maintenance and training for the laboratory instrumentation.
  • Adhere to all safety requirements and assure that departmental employees comply with required safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance on laboratory instrumentation, including mass spectrometers, HPLCs, and biophysical instruments. Provide testing support and documentation including the authoring and review of client reports, as needed.
  • Lead instrument introduction, project execution and ensure the procedures follow company, client, and relevant regulatory requirements. Responsible for training, coordinating instrument operation and maintenance for lab staff.
  • Produce high-quality instrumentation documentation to provide for equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Advise management of program status. Act as subject matter expert (SME) on laboratory instruments and interact positively and productively with clients and staff.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and a desire to take on additional responsibilities as they arise.
  • Seeks out opportunities to learn new information and improve processes and evaluate new laboratory instrumentation. Improve new lab equipment introduction processes.
  • Ability to work with multiple teams to maintain all laboratory equipment in working order to meet client needs in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to maintain organization of space, documentation, and materials to ensure smooth workflow and inventory management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with any of the following techniques/instrumentation – HPLC, capillary electrophoresis, capillary isoelectric focusing, UV-Vis, mass spectrometry, biophysical techniques (SV-AUC, CD, DSC, FTIR, MFI)
  • Ability to troubleshoot instrumentation.
