Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree – preferably in HR, industrial relations or business related.
- 5+ years of labor and employee relations experience, preferably in both represented and non-represented environments.
- Strongly prefer experience with contract negotiations, dispute resolution, responding to government agencies, contingency planning and conducting investigations.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of HR; Demonstrated continuous improvement capability to lead change and drive efficiency in business/HR processes. Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred.
- Experience establishing constructive relationships with labor organizations and representatives.
- Demonstrated skills in conflict management and team building; Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills and ability to influence and lead at all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead in the development and cultivation of Union/Management relationships, including day-to-day relations and the formal grievance procedure to insure proper administration of the Labor Agreement and all related laws/regulations.
- Research Union and Management problems make recommendations for resolution and participate in management committees to ensure effective Union/Management working relationships.
- Maintain employee and contract related records and partner with corporate Labor Relations and Legal department to ensure documentation is retained properly.
- Ensure alignment and compliance with the Marinette Labor Contract. Routinely resolve conflicts and develop solutions to create win-win partnerships where possible.
- Support and coordinate workforce planning initiatives and other HR team objectives to ensure the success of the team and the Mill.
- Counsel with site leadership on employee issues involving disciplinary processes and discharge, policy and procedures, compensation, attendance and any other areas included in the Marinette Labor Contract.
- Manage recruitment process for hourly roles.
- Contribute to an environment in which all team members are respected regardless of their individual differences and are motivated to improve both their individual and team contributions to achieve desired business results.
- Provide leadership to ensure the organization attracts, develops and retains the best people and fosters an environment which motivates a diverse team to fully use its capabilities in achieving desired business results.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred.
