Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Graduation from an accredited school of surgical technology or surgical technology military program
- At least two years of work experience as a Certified Surgical Tech required
- Completion of all CST III career ladder requirements is required
- Must hold and maintain the Certified Surgical Technologist credential administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile supplies and equipment used in surgical procedures
- Perform appropriate room duties involved with direct patient care
- Adhere to established procedural guidelines at the advanced level
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge and critical thinking skills required to provide care and/or service appropriate to the level of development of patients
