Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required and science, engineering, business administration, industrial technology, or manufacturing field preferred
  • 3 to 5 years’ quality, operations, operations support, supply chain, or distribution experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in a medical device or other highly regulated field with focus on operational excellence preferred
  • Shown success as a program/project manager with leading projects in the medical device industry desirable
  • 1 to 3 years’ supervisory or people leadership experience desired
  • 1 to 3 years’ leading Kaizen events desired
  • Experience working with ERP systems such as JDE and SAP and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
  • Shown success with deploying and sustaining a production system and/or significant organizational change effort

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a Macro level detailed analysis of trailer flow to the Covington and Madison sterilization facilities on through to Kitting Operations.
  • Establishes and communicates priorities for daily trailer flow and movement to and between the Covington and Madison facilities.
  • Figures out processing priorities based on deliveries and Supply Chain requests, planning the most economical and optimal schedule considering the Customer requirements, quality standards, and current availability of equipment, materials and labor.
  • Handles supervising system Data Entry and reviews accuracy of trailer report flow and receiving productivity reports as assigned.
  • Assists in process discrepancy resolution and corrective action implementation.
  • Work with quality department to ensure timely release of completed product lots to the GDC.
  • Coordinates with internal Customers by providing timely and accurate processing and shipping status information as required.
  • Effectively applies and ensures compliance with BD’s inventory control and warehouse management systems as required.
  • Provides a point of communication between the following functional groups: Covington and Madison Receiving teams, Covington and Madison Production teams.
  • Systematically lead numerous projects from ideation through completion.
  • Lead multi-functional teams and influence others to achieve common goals.
  • Assist in lean projects, kaizen, and other continuous improvement activities.
  • Supports BD Excellence, Tiered Management and Lean Manufacturing Component Teams.
  • Brainstorm solutions to current problems, provide value-stream mapping, and work to eliminate waste in processes.
  • Brainstorm and identify ongoing pipeline of continuous improvement projects for the site and for BD.
  • Act as change agent to drive continuous improvement approach.
  • Analyze existing processes, recommend improvements, and oversee implementation.
  • Perform gap analyses between procedures and process and develop action plans to drive alignment and improvement.
