Requirements

  • Degree in business, communications, journalism or related field, or equivalent, and typically requires 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Solid understanding of professional writing
  • Copywriting/proofreading skills needed to support multiple mediums
  • Detailed-oriented with strong project management skills

Responsibilities

  • Research, source, develop and publish content and visual elements for use on websites, in emails, presentations, videos, digital formats, print materials, internal social media platforms and events.
  • Create and maintain communication channels, collateral, and tools. Socialize and implement communications processes including advising/training internal teams on how to create better communications.
  • Draft and implement initiative/project communication strategies & plans in support of the business, the SCO narrative and internal partners/stakeholders.
  • Work individually or with a team in recommending action, scheduling, and planning projects, estimating cost, if applicable, and managing projects to completion, while tracking and measuring key performance indicators. Work across SCO functional teams and business groups to effectively prioritize work.
  • Support and work alongside communication specialist responsible for business continuity as it relates to crisis, weather or other disruptive events, developing communications for proactive customer messaging.
  • Work collaboratively to develop and deliver content for various communication channels in a visually appealing manner, consistent with our brand and intended messaging. Uphold our brand guidelines and work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure presentations are of a high standard. Create consistent themes, messaging, and branding in all communication touch points. Update/revise style guidelines to support SCO.
  • Support the SCO Communication team as needed for ad hoc content development or special projects.

  • Highly organized self-starter that can works under limited direction
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with a desire to collaborate and ability to communicate across various functional areas
  • Able to handle multiple, shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office/365 with proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, Excel
  • Experience in creating video and streaming content preferred
  • Experience with SharePoint is a plus
