Requirements

  • High-ownership mentality with a willingness to spot a problem, understand stakeholder needs, propose a solution, and implement fixes cleanly and collaboratively.
  • At least 4 years of experience in technical support roles, particularly those involving IT support, cloud technologies or distributed systems, with a proven track record of problem-solving and system optimization.
  • Proficiency in Linux and an ability to understand code, ensuring you can actively engage with and support our engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with a service-focused mindset, prioritizing the needs of the team and the company while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences, ensuring understanding and cooperation across departments.
  • Ready and capable to handle on-call responsibilities and unexpected challenges, reflecting both flexibility and a strong commitment to the team’s success.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel periodically (up to 20%) to other offices to address and iterate on IT / Security issues.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a primary responder for security incidents and questions, managing the situation from initial detection through to resolution, ensuring minimal disruption and maintaining transparency with all stakeholders.
  • Own the process of provisioning and distributing workstations to our employees, ensuring the proper deployment of our security tools. This includes working directly with the MDM and security tooling to ensure seamless experience with end users while enabling high security standards.
  • Own and grow the process for providing high-quality support in response to requests for devices, new software, and user-level configuration changes. Interacting in a way that projects our company values while maintaining clarity around policies and expectations for maintaining a strong security posture.
  • Continuously assess and improve our security protocols and infrastructure, particularly within cloud, distributed systems, and workstation endpoints to prevent potential threats.
  • Provide essential support in aligning our technology projects with compliance requirements, navigating the complexities of regulations while fostering an environment of innovation.
  • Serve as a bridge between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, translating security and compliance needs into actionable plans that support our broader business objectives.
  • Maintain an ongoing commitment to personal and professional growth, enhancing your technical skills in security and systems management, while also developing the leadership qualities necessary to guide and inspire others.
  • Software installation, upgrades, and compatibility testing to ensure smooth operation across systems and platforms, while identifying and resolving any issues that arise during deployment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with MacOS MDMs (Jamf, Mosyle, Fleetsmith, etc.)
  • Experience with Terraform, Github, GitOps/Configuration as code
  • Experience with Python, Javascript, Java, and/or other programming languages
  • Skill with administering Atlassian tools and products
  • Knowledge of VLANs to segment traffic, firewalls to secure network access, VPNs for secure remote connections, and DNS for managing name resolution.
