Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 8-10 years project management principles and methodologies obtained by assisting/coordinating mid-scale projects
- 8-10 years Program/Project delivery experience (50,000 – 250,000 Hours)
- PgMP certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire date
- Experience leading policy administration platform implementations
- Experience leading SAAS full-suite insurance solution technology implementations
- Experience leading insurance product line implementations
- Ability to apply project management best practices and methodology
- Ability managing Programs or Projects from 50,000 to 250,000 Hours
- Ability to motivate project teams and stakeholders
- Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Smartsheet, Jira, ServiceNow
- Proven ability to work on several projects simultaneously and under tight schedules
- Effective written and oral communications skills
- Proven decision-making abilities
Responsibilities
- Overseeing and coordinating medium to large programs with high complexity
- Managing project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful program delivery
- Working closely with project teams and stakeholders to achieve program objectives and drive strategic initiatives
- Establishing operational objectives and work plans, delegating assignments to more junior resources
- Ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements
- Regularly interacting with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several divisions or functional areas
- Defining and/or reviewing the statements of work for all projects
- Identifying cross-project dependencies
- Developing and/or reviewing an audience list, determining how much involvement is necessary from the partners, SMEs and other team members
- Providing clarity on roles and responsibilities
- Identifying risks, restrictions and constraints of the project and verbalizing assumptions
- Developing a project strategy to mitigate risks
- Conducting and presenting a feasibility study/cost-benefit analysis to the business stakeholders
- Clearly defining project objectives
- Setting goals and determining measures to track progress
- Developing project schedules
- Estimating span times for all activities in all projects
- Identifying all dates that must be met
- Developing a schedule for regular project meetings and progress reports
- Creating Gantt charts or other needed project artifacts for all projects
- Identifying skills and knowledge necessary to perform all project activities
- Ensuring that resources are available throughout the project
- Developing and reviewing project budgets
- Preparing a detailed budget estimate
- Seeking approval for the budget estimate
- Coordinating with Finance to set up charge codes
- Monitoring all project activities to determine if budget revisions are necessary
- Identifying risks and assessing the potential effect on the project
- Developing and recommending plans to mitigate risks
- Monitoring status of risks throughout the project
- Informing key audiences of these risks
- Creating a well-organized team
- Selecting and determining the team’s operating practices and procedures
- Developing team assignments for all projects at the same time so Project Managers can identify and resolve conflicts according to correct priorities
- Consulting with people on other projects doing similar work to find out if they need the same resources during the same time period
- Ensuring that objectives are accomplished for all projects within time and budget targets
- Regularly reviewing schedule performance against plans and handling problems that arise
- Assessing project status by comparing actual activity/event dates to planned dates
- Reviewing and evaluating financial expenditures with Project Managers and ensuring that they are in accordance with all the project plans
- Implementing corrective actions when the performance deviates from the project plan
- Exhausting all possible strategies and approaches to get the projects back on track
- Revisiting the project plan and adopting a new baseline if and when necessary
- Ensuring that progress reports on all projects are thorough and timely
- Reviewing performance highlights, details, problems, risks, changes and next steps
- Conducting efficient meetings
- Preparing an agenda and keeping partners informed and committed
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in related area
- Experience leading SAAS full-suite insurance solution technology implementations
- Experience leading Guidewire full-suite technology implementations
- Experience in one of CSAA IG’s business lines a plus
- Proficiency in program management software and enterprise tools
- Knowledge of risk management and quality assurance processes
- Advanced organizational and multitasking skills
