Requirements
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Five years of experience in supporting classroom or educational technologies required.
- Five years of strong technical troubleshooting skills with a focus on rapid resolution.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff.
- Proficiency in operating systems, software applications, audio-visual equipment, and network troubleshooting.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic educational environment.
- Customer service-oriented with a proactive approach to identifying and solving issues.
Responsibilities
- Assist faculty in setting up classroom technologies for lectures, workshops, and other active learning sessions.
- Ensure all audio-visual equipment, displays, microphones, and computers are functioning correctly before sessions begin.
- Configure software and applications as required by the faculty for instructional purposes.
- Provide on-the-spot training for faculty on using classroom technologies effectively.
- Respond promptly to any technical issues that arise during learning sessions to minimize disruptions.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems in real-time.
- Maintain a calm and professional demeanor while addressing urgent technical challenges.
- Document and communicate recurring issues to the IT team for long-term solutions.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on all classroom hardware and technologies to ensure optimal performance.
- Update software and firmware as needed to keep technologies up to date.
- Identify and replace faulty or outdated equipment to maintain high standards of functionality.
- Maintain an inventory of classroom technology equipment and ensure sufficient supplies are available.
