Requirements
- Minimum requirement of a bachelor’s degree in accounting – may consider related fields experience such as Finance, Information Systems, etc.
- Minimum of three years dedicated professional experience within accounting, private equity real estate and/or related performance measurement work history
- Technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP fair value, with aptitude to quickly master private equity performance measurement & risk theories under NCREIF/PREA Reporting Standards and GIPS
- Solid working knowledge of MS Excel, including an understanding of basic LOOKUP and IF Statements, pivot tables, and the ability to navigate complex spreadsheets
- Functional knowledge of writing queries to export data from various database tables with aptitude and interest to gain further knowledge
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and concern for accuracy
- Historical work history should align with the expectations of a deadline-oriented environment
- Well organized, flexible, able to work independently and within a team environment of constant re-prioritization of focus
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, proactive to understanding and learning new concepts
Responsibilities
- Support Americas IPG in calculating, interpreting, and compiling routine investment performance metrics and reporting as well as aid in compiling data for new business presentations and ad-hoc requests
- Develop a solid understanding of both the mechanics and the underlying theory of real estate varying levels of performance formulas as prescribed by NCREIF/PREA Reporting Standards for time weighted returns and other metrics
- Relate the principles of fair value accounting concepts to support logic behind the financial inputs for each level of real estate performance analysis
- Maintain a solid understanding of all real estate performance formulas, varying industry benchmark characteristics, and LaSalle’s global data attribute assignments
- Facilitate the compilation and submission of performance data contributed to various indices
- Monitor and maintain the return system database for user access, system data entry, and general help in guiding end users, resolving problems, and system testing when necessary
- Update and maintain the team’s policy and procedure documents through collaboration within IPG where the group intersects various internal groups such as Investor Accounting & Finance, Business Technology, Research, Compliance, and Investor Relations to create new/enhance existing procedures for better efficiency
- Support the firm’s accuracy of financial inputs to performance formulas through quality control and data governance testing procedures, as well as be able to initiate communication for out-of-scope thresholds or anomaly trends, resolving through consultation
- Assist the group in developing and maintaining RFP protocol in coordination with LaSalle’s Investor Relations group and other various involved internal groups
- Promote the use and maintain organization of the group’s shared email inbox for sourcing requests of data and general information, cyclical deadline reminders, and answering general questions
- Assist in building quarterly presentations to LaSalle’s Investment Committee, aid in the internal training of performance measurement concepts, and other investment performance related meetings
- Promote and assist with firm technology initiatives that systematically impact the Americas performance measurement processes to ensure business requirements are being met
- Participate in other projects and assignments as requested
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Yardi IM, Yardi IPlus, Zendesk, Python, R, SQL, Spreadsheet Server and Query Designer a plus
