Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in Accounting or Finance
  • An interest in banking, finance, and investments.
  • Ability to meet stringent deadlines and perform with a high degree of independence.
  • Ability to self-start and understand when to escalate risks and issues to management.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze the portfolio’s compliance to stated investment guidelines, reporting the findings to the Investment Committee and ALCO on a monthly basis.
  • Support analyses of investment opportunities, analyzing their impact on risk and returns and liquidity profiles. This includes a pre-purchase review of all investments to ensure they are consistent with investment guidelines and WEX risk tolerances.
  • Support the monthly portfolio impairment process by updating bank pre-purchase analysis.
  • Apply and leverage internal and external systems to assess, track and monitor investment exposures and risk.
  • In collaboration with other WEX teams (e.g. Accounting, Treasury, Tax), facilitate and improve investment reporting and analysis via automation.
  • Support internal control processes, investment income planning, and other compliance functions.
  • Create Investment Committee communication packages, as well as other presentations to senior management and/or other WEX constituencies. Support the creation of investment material for the Bank’s ALCO.
  • Support investment related internal and external audit requests.
  • Track and report on Bank deposit balances held at other banking institutions; interact with the Bank’s custodian on reporting and portfolio transactions.
  • Gather and review inputs for WEX Bank’s interest rate risk reporting program.
  • Ad hoc analysis in support of the Bank’s Finance department, as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bank experience, preferably in an ALM or Treasury role preferred.
  • Banking or Financial Services industry experience preferred
