Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in materials management or a related field, preferably in the defense, aerospace, or maritime industries.
- Strong knowledge of material procurement, inventory management, and logistics.
- Familiarity with DoD procurement procedures, regulations, and standards.
- Proficiency in materials management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Experience with materials testing, certifications, and military-grade standards.
- In-depth understanding of supply chain management in high-tech or defense settings.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills for working with receiving teams and internal departments.
- Ability to lead and develop teams effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the procurement, storage, and distribution of materials used in the production of autonomous vessels.
- Work closely with receiving teams to ensure the timely inspection and acceptance of materials.
- Ensure that all materials meet industry standards and specific DoD requirements.
- Implement and maintain an efficient inventory control system.
- Coordinate the logistics of incoming materials, ensuring the timely and secure delivery to production facilities.
- Maintain up-to-date records of materials, inventories, and order statuses.
- Supervise and mentor a team of material handlers and other relevant staff.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to materials handling, storage, and transportation.
- Work closely with engineering, production, and other departments to support the development and manufacturing of autonomous vessels.
