Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field preferred
- 5 or more years of experience in internal communications, public relations, or related field
- 2+ years of experience working directly with executive leadership, including the CEO level
- Strong knowledge of various internal communications channels, such as digital signage, intranet, email, and social media
- Proficient in internal communications software, including Sharepoint, email platforms and more comprehensive employee experience software tools
- Experience demonstrating strong project management and problem-solving skills
- Able to work under tight deadlines and successfully manage multiple, highly visible initiatives at the same time
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement internal and change management communications strategies and plans that align with the organization’s strategic goals and objectives, writing on behalf of executives to executives, senior leaders, people managers and all employees
- Create and manage content for verbal internal communications, including town halls, As Me Anything’s (AMA’s), videos, companywide presentations, among others
- Manage the execution of Town Halls, Ask Me Anything’s (AMA’s) as well as other in-person and virtual internal meetings and conversations
- Write and/or edit associated documents and content, including but not limited to: Intranet Home Page articles (SharePoint); All-employee e-mails; Monthly team member newsletter; Key communications from the company’s Executive Leadership Team; Employee FAQs; Employee focused presentations and other internal event related content; Internal blogs and video scripts
- Lead and design culture initiatives, like Maxar Cares week, to drive Maxar’s culture and team engagement across our distributed workforce
- Act as the voice of both the CEO and CHRO internally on change management and transformational messaging
- Collaborate with Human Resources and executive leadership to ensure alignment of internal communications initiatives
- Monitor internal communications channels for feedback and comments
- Measure and track the effectiveness of internal communications programs
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field preferred
