Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field
- 5-7 years of experience in mine waste management or a related field
- Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration
- Strong knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles and practices
- Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, GeoStudio, etc.)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Responsibilities
- Design and oversee the construction of mine waste facilities
- Conduct geotechnical and environmental assessments
- Develop and implement mine waste management plans
- Perform stability and seepage analyses
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of mine waste management systems
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards
- Prepare technical reports and documentation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including geologists, environmental scientists, water resource engineers and project managers
- Provide technical support during project planning and execution phases
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field
- Experience with tailings dam design and management
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and permitting processes
- Experience in project management
