Requirements

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in geotechnical, civil, geological, or related engineering program
  • 5+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering, ideally with exposure to marine or coastal infrastructure
  • E.I.T. designation required; P.E. or P.Eng. registration is preferred
  • Knowledge of soil mechanics, slope stability, seepage, shallow and deep foundations, and ground improvement techniques
  • Experience with geotechnical software (e.g., LPILE, APILE, Slide, PLAXIS, gINT, GeoStudio) is considered an asset
  • Demonstrated technical writing and communication skills
  • A collaborative mindset and desire to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Willingness to travel for site work and client needs (domestic/international)

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, design, and construction of marine and coastal infrastructure projects (e.g., ports, shore protection, breakwaters, and hydraulic structures)
  • Conduct and assist in managing geotechnical and geophysical site investigations, including data review, interpretation, and reporting
  • Prepare engineering analyses, calculations, and design documents under the guidance of senior staff
  • Contribute to technical reports, memos, and design packages
  • Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and modelers across offices and time zones
  • Participate in QA/QC reviews, risk assessments, and design development meetings
  • Engage in construction observation and provide technical support during project execution
  • Continue to develop expertise in tools such as LPILE, APILE, gINT, PLAXIS, GeoStudio, and similar platforms
  • Participate in internal knowledge sharing and training sessions
