Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of design or architecture
- 10+ years of professional interior design and interior architecture experience; recent corporate interiors project experience is required
- NCIDQ certified, RA and/or LEED accreditation are preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
- Proficiency in Revit and other computer design programs
- Must have a project portfolio of large corporate office projects; ideally project portfolio will show a range of corporate interiors from 25k-1M sq ft for tech firms, law firms, and other companies
- Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; Portfolios should include at least one project (especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification) with this particular focus, which we look forward to discussing during the interview
Responsibilities
- Lead the creative efforts and develop overall design concepts and design presentation strategies
- Act as an advocate and committed mentor for Gensler’s next generation of talent; build Gensler’s talent pipeline through recruiting and outreach with local design communities and universities
- Provide creative direction to design teams
- Advance the understanding that design resilience is a responsibility of every person at Gensler
- Cultivate design expertise with the desire to always learn, grow, and evolve
- Act as a primary design interface with clients and consultants
- Collaborate with team members and colleagues to promote an inter-disciplinary design approach and philosophy
- Participate in client development, marketing and project interview efforts
- Select interior finishes, furniture and equipment
- Produce space plans, furniture plans, elevations, conceptual and finished design presentation documentation
- Provide solutions to design problems and generate design alternatives
- Review drawings, mockups, materials, and finish samples submitted by project contractors
- Manage and curate project photography and awards submissions
