Requirements
- 0-2 years Interior Design experience
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal at all levels within the organization
- Ability to build relationships with vendors and clients
- Strong presentation skills required
- Working knowledge of architecture, construction, and design industries
- An awareness of building and safety regulations
- Ability to work under pressure and deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Creative problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team of other professionals
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with other designers to support home building facilities nationwide
- Assist other designers in working with architects and engineers during the initial design phase to create, renovate, or modify spaces to meet design standards and building codes
- Enhance the function, safety, and aesthetics of interior spaces
- Assist in working with vendors to select samples; including flooring, carpet, paint, cabinetry, etc.
- Choose color palettes
- Plan architectural details such as crown molding and built-in bookshelves
- Read and interpret blueprints
- Home staging and other interior staging projects
- Assist in planning and estimating budgets for projects
- Draw up floor plans and sketches
- Prepare working drawings, designs, and plans often, but not always, utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) software
- Stay up to date on current trends in the design industry
- Other responsibilities as assigned
