The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos currently
pursuing a new opportunity that has openings for an Integration Engineer to work in Fayetteville, NC. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Enterprise
Development, Application, and Training (EDAT) mission. In this mission we are focused on providing innovative, data-driven solutions and enterprise architecture enhancements to enable seamless operations across USSOCOM’s global
network. The program emphasizes rapid development and deployment of technologies to enhance the mobility and readiness of Special Operations Forces (SOF) in both combat and non-combat scenarios. Key tasks include program
management, application development, training support, and technology integration to maintain USSOCOM’s operational edge. The EDAT program underscores agility and adaptability, ensuring SOF professionals have access to
the information and tools they need to meet evolving mission requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
Support the integration of systems and applications across cloud-based, on-premises, and hybrid environments within the SOF Information Environment (SIE) to ensure seamless functionality.
Assist in developing and implementing integration processes, ensuring compatibility between legacy and modern systems across various enterprise architectures.
Contribute to the design and maintenance of integration frameworks and workflows to enhance operational efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
Maintain system integration architecture diagrams, interface specifications, and technical documentation.
Work collaboratively with development, infrastructure, and security teams to align integration efforts with USSOCOM mission requirements and program objectives.
Participate in discussions with government stakeholders to understand operational needs, capture integration requirements, and ensure alignment with project goals.
Execute test plans to validate integration solutions, assist in troubleshooting technical issues, and support deployment activities.
Apply troubleshooting methodologies to resolve integration challenges with guidance from senior engineers, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Ensure compliance with DoD standards, including NIST, DISA STIGs, and Zero Trust principles, during integration efforts.
Implement secure data exchange mechanisms between systems to safeguard classified and sensitive information.
Assist in identifying opportunities to integrate emerging technologies and tools that improve system performance and operational outcomes.
Continuously assess and refine integration processes to adapt to evolving program requirements and technical landscapes.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 4+ years of prior relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 2+ years of prior relevant experience. Additional training and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Must possess at minimum a Secret clearance
Security certifications, such as CompTIA Security+ or CISSP Associate.
4+ years of experience in system integration, supporting the integration of enterprise systems.
Hands-on experience with integration tools and technologies, including APIs, middleware, and data exchange frameworks.
Familiarity with DoD security policies and frameworks, including DISA STIGs and NIST standards.
Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Understanding of DevSecOps methodologies and CI/CD pipeline tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Doctorate in a technical domain.
Experience integrating systems across diverse environments, including legacy and modern architectures.
Expertise in data integration and migration strategies, including ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools.
Familiarity with USSOCOM’s operational environment, mission requirements, and the SOF Information Environment (SIE).
Prior experience supporting DoD programs, ensuring alignment with government security and operational standards.
Proven ability to identify and implement innovative integration solutions that enhance operational capabilities.
Experience with risk assessment and mitigation strategies related to system integration.
Strong communication skills to present complex integration concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align integration activities with organizational goals.
