Requirements
- MA or PhD in Communication, Journalism, Mass Communication, or related field
- Ability to teach journalism skills that integrate multimedia elements, such as text, video, audio, photo, graphics and/or data is required.
Responsibilities
- Teach 4 courses (12 credit hours) each semester of Communications and/or Journalism coursework
- Advise and mentor students
- Continue to develop expertise through research and scholarship
- Participate in faculty governance and campus life
- Supervise news-related student activities, including the student news publication and the chapter of SPJ.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching online is preferred
- 3-5 years of professional experience in news reporting, producing, or similar professional journalism experience is preferred
- Ability to develop and implement instructional approaches such as service learning and civic engagement is preferred.
