Requirements
- Basic experience in direct telephone or customer face-to-face sales (1-2 years)
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to build strong customer and peer partnerships that allow you to gain confidence and trust from others easily
- Ability to plan and prioritize work in a dynamic environment and make quality, timely decisions
- Effective listening skills that are utilized to discover customer needs to adapt your approach and demeanor to different situations
- Computer proficiency (Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word and Outlook)
Responsibilities
- Present IDEXX’s values to customers in a professional manner
- Focus on a consultative selling approach to help practices grow their diagnostic revenue
- Use discovery to make recommendations and generate leads/opportunities within your existing customer base
- Help build customer loyalty through the effective use of IDEXX products & services
- Collaborate with field sales colleagues to increase diagnostic utilization and revenue growth
- Use Salesforce.com to maintain accurate customer profiles and interactions
Preferred Qualifications
- Diagnostic sales preferred
- Previous experience managing a sales pipeline highly preferred
- Bi-Lingual (French Canadian) is preferred
- Understanding of the veterinary diagnostic market and experience in healthcare or scientific industry is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in a business or scientific discipline is a plus
