Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program
- PHRMTECHR-Registered Pharmacy Technician OR PHARMC-Certified Pharmacy Technician
- 1 year recent relevant experience
- General understanding of contemporary pharmacy practices
- Working knowledge of medical terminology, drug nomenclature, abbreviations, and symbols
- Basic working knowledge of legal requirements and accreditation standards
- Solid written and verbal communications skills
- Attention to detail when verifying medication identification and dosages
- General computer skills and a basic understanding of computer applications
- Ability to work within standardized policies, procedures, and practices
- Ability to recognize, evaluate and resolve standard problems
- Ability to ensure the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI)
- Ability to perform independently as well as be part of a team
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers
Responsibilities
- Provides timely and accurate pharmaceutical care
- Prepares, compounds, packages, labels, and dispenses medication, nutritional products, IV admixture and solutions
- Assists with medicine and supplies inventory management and control
- Maintains adequate stock levels
- Checks accuracy of pricing
- Completes required regulatory documentation
- Adheres to all standards, procedures, cleaning protocols, and infection control policies
