Requirements
- Must possess a current Security Clearance (Secret level)
- 8+ years of professional experience required
- Must be comfortable working in a project management environment and have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to drive/influence on-time completion of tasks
- Must have strong written and verbal communication, supporting senior leader engagement, stakeholder management, and training/coaching direct reports
- Must possess critical thinking, creativity, and analytical rigor, including ability to deviate from a standard template / process when required, ask questions to pressure-test the status quo, and look “around the corner” to anticipate needs proactively
- Must be curious and have a learning mindset to either (1) expand on previous knowledge base or (2) build knowledge base of programmatic / system-specific knowledge, the acquisition lifecycle, and FMS case processes
Responsibilities
- Research companies and consult with industry leadership to understand their products, their domestic and foreign customers, sales projections and strategies, production/delivery issues, and constraints.
- Utilize research tools such as JANES Defense, DoD Techipedia / R&E gateway, SIPRI, EIU, WGI and open-source intelligence to highlight trends, emerging capabilities, and market trends.
- Consult with Army PEOs (Program Executive Office) to understand their requirements, acquisition challenges, and issues with industry.
- Prepare read-ahead packages for Army senior leadership in advance of meetings with industry.
- Respond to weekly RFIs (Requests for Information) from Army leadership in preparation for meetings with industry.
- Make recommendations for Army leadership engagements with industry at trade shows and industry events.
- Shape and coordinate Army leadership visits to industry facilities and other strategic engagements.
- Aid with coordination and preparation of quarterly industry sync sessions with 6 major OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers)
- Conduct all-source analysis of foreign defense industrial programs, infrastructure, and capabilities supporting a foreign country’s ability to develop, equip, sustain, and employ its military forces across basic, strategic, and military industrial sectors
- Provide analysis of historical and current inventory, expenditure trends, manufacturing capability, and variations in production levels
- Forecasting supply and demand
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in DoD or U.S. Defense Industrial Base preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, industrial engineering, or equivalent education is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to structure analysis based on trends in reporting and a range of analytic perspectives
