Requirements

  • Working knowledge of mechanical power systems & related equipment; including but not limited to the following: gear reducers, pumps, cylinders, piping & plumbing, hydraulics, etc.
  • Knowledge & experience in all types of mechanical tools-related equipment and instrumentation.
  • Must possess a normal complement of mechanical maintenance hand tools.
  • Possess sound mechanical troubleshooting skills and demonstrate the ability to diagnose & correct mechanical malfunctions.
  • Ability to layout job scope for new equipment installations, equipment modifications, & system upgrades.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and respond to call-ins as required for plant operations.
  • Must be able to be medically qualified to wear respiratory protection. Must be clean-shaven and pass respiratory fit testing.
  • Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Minimum (5) five years of experience in Industrial Mechanical Maintenance
  • This position may require working any shift. Working overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two-year degree in a mechanical technology discipline
  • Qualified applicants will be required to take and pass 3M testing as a part of the selection process
  • At least one year of experience running basic machining equipment (turning, milling, welding)
  • Apprenticeship certificate in the mechanical or industrial field
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Knowledge of operating principles, purpose, proper application, and design limitation of tools, equipment, and devices used in the moving and installation of machineries such as hoists, cranes, lift trucks, dollies, rollers, jacks, welding and cutting equipment and a variety of hand tools.
  • Knowledge of operating principles, purpose, proper application, and design limitations of mechanical and hydraulic power transmission components or elements such as shafts, bearings, gears, pulleys, belts, chains, seals, fasteners, couplings, brakes, clutches, pumps, valves and similar devices.
  • Skilled in operating and using hand tools, wrenches, air and electric powered portable hand tools, machine tools, and a variety of testing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret measurement instruments and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work well with other people
  • Ability and desire to work as a multi-skilled mechanical craftsperson
