Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering: automation, electrical or other related field.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience in automation required.
  • Experience working on industrial automation projects in the food sector required.
  • Be a member of the OIQ.
  • Mastery of PLC, SCADA, DCS systems.
  • Strong skills in PLC development and programming.
  • Experience in developing operator interfaces, HMI.
  • Experience reading block flow diagrams, process diagrams, and P&ID.
  • Experience reading wiring diagrams and electrical drawings.
  • Availability for frequent travel within Canada.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English (English required to work with colleagues from other Canadian provinces).

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of control systems (PLC, SCADA, DCS) for industrial processes as planned.
  • Supervise project execution, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management, ensuring deadlines and budget are met.
  • Manage the integration, testing, and commissioning of systems, ensuring smooth implementation and troubleshooting.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Continuously monitor and optimize control systems to improve performance, reduce downtime, and increase efficiency.
  • Act as the main technical point of contact for clients, addressing their needs and providing expert recommendations.
  • Ensure all systems comply with industry safety regulations and standards, conducting risk assessments and audits.
  • Stay abreast of the latest industry trends and technological advancements to bring innovative solutions to projects.
  • Maintain detailed project documentation, technical reports, and system specifications.
