Requirements
- Has completed basic hydraulic/pneumatic instruction with a grade of ‘C’ or better and/or has completed 1-2 years of workplace training in hydraulics/pneumatics (Completion of fluid power program at technical school can be used to fulfill workplace training requirement – 2 semester program = 1 year workplace training, 4 semester program = 2 years workplace)
- Able to use a variety of hand tools required for repair
- Able to tear down open loop and closed loop pumps
- Able to understand basic hydraulic diagrams/schematics
- Able to understand the basics on the three most popular pumps and their components.
- Possess a common understanding of cylinders and their operations
- Demonstrates the ability to safely operate the equipment (hoist, fork trucks, and lifts) used to maneuver hydraulic or pneumatic units
- Possess an understanding of the dangers behind high pressure equipment and high flowing systems
- Able to provide training to Hydraulic Prep, Hydraulic Teardown and Test Technicians
Responsibilities
- Testing and repairing various hydraulic components.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic mechanical abilities
- Ability to read hydraulic schematics
- Ability to use various tools for measurement (micrometer, id micrometer, and calipers)
- Advanced hydraulics coursework is a plus
