Requirements

  • A 4-year degree preferably in human resources is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in human resources, with demonstrated progression of responsibilities.
  • 3-years of multi-unit experience.
  • Managerial experience in an HR function and experience having direct reports.
  • Field HR experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Certificate of auto insurance as defined in company policy.
  • Functional expertise and ability to obtain training as necessary.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong employment law knowledge is preferred.
  • Ability to work with and influence all types of people at all levels of the organization.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with employees and other business contacts.
  • Able to understand and analyze data.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes operations and human resources-related data, identify trends and consults with center management to proactively reverse negative trends.
  • Provides guidance and support to center HRBPs and Training Managers regarding training, employee relations, staffing, benefits, compensation, policies and procedures, affirmative action planning, policy interpretation, compliance, etc.
  • Delivers training of company-wide programs such as targeted selection, performance management process, leadership workshop, corrective coaching, advising on labor matters, etc.
  • Participates in the development of company-wide training programs; coordinates center-level training initiatives in conjunction with HRBPs and Training Managers.
  • Reviews terminations to ensure adherence with policies and procedures.
  • Evaluates and advises of potential liability which may exist.
  • Counsels and/or drafts company position statements in response to agency charges.
  • Investigates and resolves ethics hotline concerns for assigned region.
  • Develops and manages HR project plans for acquired companies and start-up distribution centers; keeps senior management apprised of project status; recommends and facilitates actions to keep the project on task.
  • Ensures compliance with EEO/AA through training.
  • Facilitates the implementation and guidance of current performance management systems, to include succession development plans for assigned centers.
  • Participates in and sometimes lead focus groups aimed at improving company-wide retention, training, assimilation, etc.
  • Create and deliver presentations to corporate officers regarding HR practices.
  • Participates in annual center compensation review meetings.
  • Keep informed of Federal and State legislation in the human resource area and communicate these changes to management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong employment law knowledge is preferred.
  • Distribution or manufacturing experience and exempt/non-exempt recruiting background preferred.
