Requirements
- High school diploma and 5+ years of progressive HR experience in management or senior generalist role
- Broad HR Generalist knowledge with experience in employee relations, recruitment, benefits, and compensation
- Prior experience in a union environment is a plus
- Strong people skills with the ability to interact with all levels of employees and management
- Must be able to travel as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide counsel to colleagues and all levels of management on employee relations issues ensuring legal compliance with policy and laws
- Conduct internal investigations in accordance with Company policy and legal requirements
- Respond to grievances, review disciplinary programs, conduct investigations, prepare for arbitration and participate in union contract negotiations
- Partner with management in recording of local workers’ compensation claims and OSHA reporting logs to ensure compliance
- Actively engage in communications with other HR team members around best practices and identify opportunities to create consistency where necessary
- Partner with HR Management to develop and implement targeted training and development programs; conduct regulatory training sessions as needed
- Deliver leadership training for all leaders on various HR topics, including ethics, labor laws, policies and procedures
- Oversee the performance management process and work with leaders on their colleagues review and evaluations
- Conduct job analysis and job descriptions creation
- Support the Director of Human Resources in executing organizational strategic initiatives
- Maintain current knowledge of state and local DOT standards and requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of progressive HR experience
- Working knowledge of Workday
- PHR or SPHR and/or CEBS or CCP
