Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, science, engineering, or other related field
  • 8-12+ years of experience in HSE with at least 5-8 years in oil and gas
  • Proven experience working in field operations with contractors/vendors, influencing various levels of both operational and HSE teams
  • Professional certification(s) highly preferred, such as ASP, CSP, CHSO, or PMP

Responsibilities

  • Review, understand and implement the full contractor safety management (CSM) program and associated procedures
  • Collaborate with the full ORCM HSE department on effectiveness and accuracy of the CSM programs
  • Collaborate with contractors on the requirements of the Oxy CSM program and associated procedures
  • Conduct independent Oxy Contractor Safety Management Assessments
  • Use and interpret contractor performance data to help identify deficient contractors
  • Train other Oxy functional and business teams on CSM expectations
  • Work with Audit team to select low performing contractors for CFAs and the Safety Engagement Monitoring Program (SEMP)
  • Assist operations champions with understanding their roles in the CSM and SEMP processes
  • Provide general support within the Contractor Safety Management Team including managing or assisting with contractor’s data from Oxy’s various contractor data sources (ISN, Alert, Ariba, etc) and contractors that are not in compliance
  • Managing or assisting with contract renewals
  • Participate in Contractor Assessments when required
  • Review Contractor Assessments for possible CFA needs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with different parts of the Oxy business, particularly in field operations
  • Experience with the development and delivery of historical contractor safety management program(s)
