Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum 5 years Engineering experience.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary HDNU Controls Liaison to the Controls, CSS, and Gas Power Engineering Quality Leaders in support of the four Quality Workstreams: Zero Defect Culture, New Product Introduction, Supply Base Quality, and Management of Change.
  • Support response to front-line customers who feel the pain when we deliver poor quality.
  • Drive improvement upstream into our processes across all of Engineering.
  • Improve our engineering quality execution but also the broader Gas Power Quality workstreams.
  • Drive Quality Excellence into Engineering.
  • Support day-to-day Quality Operations for an organization of 240+ engineers located worldwide.
  • Coordinate all HDNU quality issue resolution with Controls Engineering Quality Leader.
  • Establish necessary operational infrastructure, cadence, and actionable KPIs/TTIs to communicate and track Quality performance to drive proper accountability within the functional teams.
  • Coordinate necessary QMS auditing activities across HDNU Controls Engineering to support ISO accreditation, including desk-side audits, quality framework audits, and LRQA.
  • Run quality management reviews with HDNU Controls leadership.
  • Support Controls quality MOR (Monthly Operating Review).
  • Partner with broader Corporate, Gas Power, Gas Power Engineering, and Controls quality community to drive a culture of zero-defect culture among the HDNU Controls Engineering organization.
  • Broaden the application of problem-solving (root cause analysis) and continuous improvement tools in a way that will improve quality, efficiency, capacity, and process reliability.
  • Drive the necessary continuous improvement processes including NCR, RCA, PSR.
  • Maintain and improve daily management of quality through use of CLM and Power Now dashboards and queries.
  • Enable and empower the Controls Engineering resources to identify opportunities and locally act upon to drive quality improvements.
  • Celebrate and share Controls Engineering quality lessons learned and recognize success.

  • Appropriate experience driving quality improvement, preferably within an Engineering organization.

  • Proven to be effective driving outcomes in a large, globally matrixed organization.
  • Comfortable with conflict but leads as a collaborator, facilitator, and strong partner.
  • Critical, systems thinker with the ability to bring others along, even those with conflicting priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills; data-driven but decisive despite ambiguity.
  • Customer-focused with clear, concise written and oral communications to the appropriate level.
