Requirements
- B.S. in Health Physics (or related environmental field) or National Registry of Radiation Protection Technician certification with 5 years’ experience
- Minimum of five years’ experience applied radiation safety experience.
Responsibilities
- Assisting the RSO with the implementation of the Leidos radiation safety program for client sites
- Providing technical health physics support for client contracts
- Supporting characterization and MARSSIM Final Status Survey activities
- Developing white papers and/or documents for relevant health physics technical issues
- Developing site safety and health plans and radiation safety programs
- Implementing internal and/or external dosimetry programs
- Conducting dose assessments
- Implementing MARSSIM methodologies for development of final status survey plans and post-remedial action reports
- Implementing environmental monitoring programs
- Using computer modeling (COMPLY, CAP88-PC, RESRAD, RESRAD-BUILD, etc.) to determine source terms, dose and/or risk to modeled receptors
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification by the American Board of Health Physics
- Experience in the implementation of a comprehensive radiation safety program including but not limited to USACE, NRC and DOT regulations
- Experience managing a radiation protection program, developing Radiation work Permits, developing and presenting radiological training, and evaluating and developing radiological data and surveys
- Experience implementing MARSSIM methodologies including development of work plans or final status survey reports
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain custom MS Access and MS Excel applications
- Ability to manage computer data and to transfer data between different formats and platforms
- Experience using health physics related computer software (CAP88-PC and RESRAD)
