Requirements
- Proven success managing a production studio in an agency or marketing communications environment with tight deadlines and wider cross-functional dependancies managing and structuring large scale teams (60+)
- Proven experience in building, training and managing off-shore / remote teams from inception to established studio
- Experience of defining automation strategies (and execution of) demonstrating clear efficiency and productivity gains
- Strong understanding of finance process : relatedly monitoring team burn reports and quarterly /annual team budgets
- Solid technical skills including Photoshop and motion graphics software
- Deep understanding of web-production workflow, best practices as it relates to interactive design and production
- Excellent project management, time management, written and verbal communication skills with experience employing Agile and Waterfall project management techniques
- Self-directed, detail oriented, problem solver, with a sense of urgency and ability to work under pressure
- Experience working across large scale enterprise CMS systems e.g. AEM / Sitecore and how graphics are managed within
- Sound judgement and able to make decisions in real-time based on sound technical knowledge
- Able to balance assertiveness and sensitivity, diplomacy and patience, while promoting communication and teamwork
- Active member of Hogarth California leadership team
- Partners with Senior Management, Operations and HR to establish and communicate company strategy and policy
Responsibilities
- Overall responsible for the GPS client-partner relationship – key escalation point
- Works closely with the clients, Managers of Motion Graphics and Graphic Production to coordinate all work entering and exiting the studio
- Ensures all work produced is of the highest quality, down to the last pixel
- Collaborates with internal Hogarth counterparts and client leads to understand timelines, manage quarterly resources plans, and ensure staffing resources are always available
- Define effective longer term team strategy for future business planning
- Provides production strategy and planning for upcoming launches and updates to ensure production capabilities are understood and considered
- Manages overflow of work when studio resources are fully utilized (prioritization / resource distribution)
- Oversees performance management and career development for the GPS team
- Actively participates in attracting top talent and employee retention
- Continually looks for ways to enhance productivity through process improvements, task automation and new technology
- Solid grasp of AI principles and how they can support in design / production tasks
- Leads by example and participates in culture development and management
- Growth, development and management of new offshore teams to increase scale and utilize timezones effectively
- Remains current on technology and trends in graphic production
- Work with commercial team to track / monitor budgets (weekly burn reports, quarterly and annual planning)
- Program of work oversight to understand high level studio project requirements and staffing needs (quarterly and annually)
