Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in capital markets, structured finance, or related roles at a fintech lender, investment bank, asset manager, or similar.
- A proven track record of raising and managing large-scale debt facilities or forward flow agreements.
- Deep understanding of structured finance, ABS, warehouse lending, and credit risk in a tech-forward lending environment.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills, with the ability to inspire trust with institutional investors and internal stakeholders.
- Highly analytical and comfortable with credit and portfolio performance data.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity and build from zero to one in a fast-paced, high-growth startup.
- Passion for small businesses and alignment with Parafin’s mission and values.
- Deep knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn product constructs relevant to the small business segment.
Responsibilities
- Own and lead Parafin’s capital markets strategy end-to-end, including debt financing, forward flow arrangements, securitization, and other innovative funding structures.
- Build and manage relationships with institutional investors, banks, warehouse lenders, rating agencies, and capital partners.
- Negotiate and close financing agreements, driving attractive terms that enable sustainable and profitable growth.
- Work cross-functionally with Finance, Accounting, Risk, Legal, and Product teams to design scalable funding programs aligned with our embedded finance model.
- Monitor market trends, competitor funding structures, and investor appetite to anticipate changes and proactively evolve our strategy.
- Develop capital reporting and performance frameworks, ensuring transparency and trust with all external partners.
- Represent Parafin externally with capital partners, and internally as a key member of the executive team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience at a high-growth fintech company (e.g., Stripe, Square, Affirm, Klarna, Shopify, etc.).
- Experience structuring facilities in the SMB or embedded finance space.
- Exposure to buy/sell-side credit risk evaluation and securitization structuring.
