Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in a Tech related Major. Or 3+ years of equivalent experience in a HW, Mechanical Lab or Datacenter environment (working with computers, terminals, and other tech ).
  • Critical thinking skills and curiosity, especially for POS product design validation and Root cause analysis working collaboratively with Mechanical Engineering team(s).
  • Proficient knowledge of POS, payment devices, display hardware, embedded PCs.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple job effectives, and to handle detailed and broad range projects
  • Ability to meet deadlines and be detail oriented
  • Attention to detail especially with documentation and testing.
  • Great communication skills to work with Toasters with different levels of tech understanding.
  • Familiarity with Google Workplace tools (Docs, Sheets, etc)
  • Ability to self-manage and prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Work cross-functionally with the Delphi engineering team and product manager to assist in validating new and existing hardware
  • Maintain the existing hardware inventory and assist with intake of new hardware products
  • Process shipments and management of hardware to and from various employees across Toast.
  • Organize and document tests to get concise information in a repeatable format.
  • Create documents for standard operating procedures.
  • Work with a variety of machinery and test & measurement equipment covering compression/tension, heat/humidity, electronic microscopes, ect. And maintain reliability and availability of all hardware
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment that includes POS and Payment Devices, as part of the Design Validation process.
  • Diagnosis and repair Mechanical Engineering failure or issues under Mechanical Engineers’ guidance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • C/C++ programming skills for equipment firmware maintenance, or bug fixes.
