Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in mechanical engineering or a related field. (completed and verified prior to start)
- Three (3) years of mechanical design and development of consumer products in a private, public, government or military environment
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) for 3D modeling and drafting.
Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design and development of consumer products, with a focus on hardgoods.
- Conduct feasibility studies, concept development, and prototyping to validate design ideas.
- Utilize CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) to create detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
- Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and analysis to ensure product performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with industrial designers, electrical engineers, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical components.
- Conduct testing and validation of prototypes to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Identify and resolve design issues, providing technical support throughout the product lifecycle.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA), Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) principles.
- Experience with rapid prototyping techniques (e.g., 3D printing).
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
